know as Assessment for Mission Service (AMS) exam. Assessment of
Individual Police Officers for Service in United Nations Peacekeeping
Operations and Special Political Missions is now regulated by Standard Operating Procedures, 2012 which was made effective from 1 February 2012.

- This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) provides instructions on how to assess if individual police officers from United Nations Member States (MS) fulfill the requirements for service in United Nations peacekeeping operations (PKO) or special political missions (SPM). This SOP also provides guidance and assistance to MSs in their pre-selection procedures.
