Incident Report:
At 10:30 hours, on 7 September 2013, an anonymous caller informed the United Nations Police (UNPOL) station in Abidjan that 15 minutes ago he had witnessed a teen aged Haitian girl being kidnapped in broad daylight in the market parking lot at he corner of Russel Avenue and Ludwig Square, outside a hardware store known as Balkan Super. The called further stated that the abductor is a white male in his 20s. The most distinguishing characteristic was that he seemed to have severe acne, boils and pockmarks on his in a ponytail at the time. The witness described him as having fox-like eyes.
The UNPOL, together with the Haitian National Police, has requested local media t announce the kidnapping of Rebecca. The photo of the victim, together with her physical description, was telecasted on local TV channels and printed in all the mafor Haitian newspapers on 09 September 2013.
Situation 1 :
At 1000 hours on 7 September 2013, Rebecca and her friend Maria left home and rode their scooters to the market, 20 minutes ride from Rebecca's home. They left the scooters by the side door as they went inside the store. They shopped there for 30 minutes. Upon leaving the store, the two girl started walking home, completely forgetting about the scooters. After circa 25 minutes when they realized they had forgotten them, they turned and started walking back at the same speed to where they left them; however, they saw that Rebecca's scooter was missing. Rebecca then spotted her scooter farther down in the market parking lot, where it had been placed near a parked car. When Rebecca bent down to pick the scooter up, an unidentified white male jumped out of the parked car, picked up Rebecca from behind, and threw her into the back of his car. The suspect was 1 meter 76 centimeters tall with brown eyes and dark hair and had a slender build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a fake black mustache and goatee. During the incident he was also wearing a black sweat shirt, gray jeans trousers, and black tennis shoes. Rebecca's friend Maria ran back into the store to get help. The abductor managed to escape with Rebecca. The abductor drove a large older model sedan. It was possibly a four-door vehicle and was cream in color. The car may have had cement splatters on the sides and lights set into the rear bumper. The front bumper was battered; the vehicle appeared run-down, it may have previously been in an accident. The car was last seen speeding south on Rassel Avenue towards nearby Lofa County, with Rebecca inside.Situation 2 :
At 1230 hours, 07 September 2013, Rebecca's mother showed up at the UNPOL station stating that her daughter had been abducted. She mentioned that she had gone to the hardware store known as Balkan Super with a friend named Maria. The two left home at 1000 hours and rode their scooters to the market, two blocks from home. At 1210 hours, Maria came to her and narrated what had happened to her daughter Rebecca. She was very worried and feared something had happened to her. She stated that Rebecca is 14 years old and was wearing a pink blouse with jeans when she left the house in the morning. She has a black mole on her chin and a scar on her fore-head. After hearing her statement for 15 minutes, the Duty Officer registered a missing case.The UNPOL, together with the Haitian National Police, has requested local media t announce the kidnapping of Rebecca. The photo of the victim, together with her physical description, was telecasted on local TV channels and printed in all the mafor Haitian newspapers on 09 September 2013.
Situation 3 :
At 1425 hours on 12 September 2013, Mr. Peter Gonzalez, a 40 year old man entered the UNPOL station in Abidjan and stated that he had seen the telecast of Rebecca's kidnapping and has vital information to give. He was ushered into interview room#4. He stated to Officer Graham Bell, the interviewing officer that since 07 September he had seen a four-door, cream colored vehicle parked near an abandoned farmhouse, located at 49 Alexander Street, Lofa County. He thought of reporting the vehicle to police as the car fits into the description printed in the local newspaper. He further stated that he had seen no one coming out or entering into the abandoned farmhouse.First Part of CLA (Reading)

On receiving the information from Mr. Peter Gonzalez, police mobilized a rescue party. The party consisted of 2 experts from the Forensic Team, 2 Officers and 5 armed police from Operation Team and a doctor and two nurses from the Medical team.
At 1500 hours on 12 September 201, the rescue party headed towards the abandoned farmhouse, located at 49 Alexander Street, Lofa County. On arrival they quickly spotted the suspect's Sedan and a forensic team made a thorough search of it . They found a machete, cotton pads, and ropes which they impounded.
The operation team surrounded the perimeter of the house and the team leader gave the verbal command to whoever was in the house to come out with their hands up.
After 5 minutes a slender build 1 meter 76 centimeters tall male with brown eyes and dark hair came out with a teen age girl. The police quickly handcuffed the suspect and rescue the victim.
The medical Team checked the victim and advised immediate transportation to the hospital. The victim was in a state of trauma and bore signs of beating. She was bleeding profusely, most probably a result of brutality rape. The victim was transported t Elizabeth Memorial Hospital and the victim's mother was duly informed about her daughter being rescued.
The suspect was taken before the Investigation Judge who ordered his detention at the Police Detention Center.
